Scope and Function (currently under review by the Academic Senate)
SCOPE:
The Committee explores all academic and professional matters involving equity and diversity in the hiring of faculty.
FUNCTION:
- Reviews and makes recommendations to the Academic Senate on issues of equity and diversity in hiring, equal opportunity, and cultural diversity in the curriculum.
- Recommends to Human Resources DEPAC subcommittee matters related to plans, programs, projects, policies and training that uphold our commitment to faculty equity and diversity (EEO).
- Promotes the hiring of faculty who support the goals of student success for a diverse student population.
- Assess campus climate and recommend actions to increase and improve equity among our diverse campus community.
