Sabbaticals, Fellowships, and Awards
Welcome to the Sabbaticals, Fellowships, and Awards Committee.
Scope & Function
The Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees the awarding of leave time and financial stipends to support individual faculty as they pursue worthwhile professional development activities, such as formal study, independent research, creative projects, field studies, or travel related to their profession not otherwise possible through a normal workload assignment.
Develops and makes available a set of formal standards and matrix that will be applied in sabbatical and fellowship applications.
Establishes procedures and timelines governing sabbatical and fellowship applications.
Publicizes the availability of and faculty members’ eligibility for sabbaticals and fellowships.
Provides workshops that clarify the sabbatical and fellowship applications and the evaluation process.
Evaluates sabbatical and fellowship recipients’ reports summarizing their experiences and activities.
Nominates the Faculty of the Year for approval by Senate.
Membership: Faculty and Administrators, 2:1 ratio

Sabbatical Application and Related Information
Sabbatical Application 2019-2020 (Due October 11, 2018, full-time faculty only) *Although applications are available, please do not gather signatures or submit your application until fall semester.
- Sabbatical Application Pointers (October, 29, 2015 Presentation)
- Sabbatical reports should be sent to the sabbatical chair no later than the eighth week of the semester following a sabbatical. Reports may vary from person to person, but a basic report should include: the objectives outlined in the proposal, how those objectives were met and any supporting documentation.
