As the year begins I extend my very best wishes to all of you. Let us hope that 2012 will be a big and continuous improvement on the old year behind us.
Happily, the SMC Associates remains strong and thriving as we continue to present and underwrite wonderful events and speakers on campus. Your support enables us to give the students that margin of excellence that enriches their college experience and allows them new windows on the larger world. Thank you for that!
Please join us for our many exciting Associates spring events created just with you in mind: Our March 3rd reception and viewing at the Barrett Gallery; Best-selling and engaging author Eric Weiner discussing his book “Geography of Bliss” on March 1st, the Rocky Young Lecture featuring Dr. Christine Schultz in “The Millennials: The Most Consequential Generation”, a very timely subject in this election year; the talk will be followed by a reception with the speaker; and how about a fun and relaxing – and free – screening of “American Graffiti” with pizza and sodas on Friday, June 8th, with a lively prologue and post-showing discussion with Dr. Alan Buckley.
And these are just the programs we have created for YOU, in genuine appreciation for all you do for the college. There is so much more! Please come out, bring friends and family too and have them join us in these many opportunities to experience the richness of Santa Monica College.
