Sion "Shy" Roy is currently a cardiologist at Harbor UCLA Hospital. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University and the Medical College of Virginia, he went on to complete his medical training at Georgetown University Hospital and Harbor UCLA Hospital. He  has done extensive research and is an expert on Cardiac CT imaging.
Dr. Roy is also an expert on health policy and is on the board of trustees for both the California Medical Association (CMA) and LA County Medical Association (LACMA). 
Additionally, he is very active in the local community. He serves at the vice-chair for the Santa Monica-Malibu School District Health and Safety District Advisory Committee, as well as on the Santa Monica College Bond Oversight Committee and General Advisory Board. Dr. Roy is also on the executive committee of the Santa Monica Democratic Club.
