Important update: The Big Blue Bus Swipe

and Ride Program- Big Blue Bus now requires

that you “swipe” your student ID card in order to ride the BBB Any Time, Any Line. You are responsible to activate your card!

è If you’re new this Fall, your card should be ready to use!

è If you’re returning and have a card that has a magnetic strip you must activate your card at the Bursar’s office or half a dozen other stations. YOU WILL NEED YOUR STUDENT / STAFF ID NUMBER! Visit www.smc.edu/swipe for more information.

Big Blue Bus

Thanks to SMC and the Associated Students, SMC students can ride the Big Blue Bus…Any line, Any time! Simply pay your fees, swipe your card, ride the bus and save money, time and the planet! Visit the BBB website for more info.

Zimride

Want to split the cost, spare the air, and share your ride? Then Zimride is for you!

Zimride is the social networking site exclusive to the SMC community. Participation is quick and easy! Simply sign up using your smc.edu Google email and enter your commute and ride preferences. Zimride will match you with other SMC students with the same commute. You can even see a profile of the student or visit their Facebook page to find the optimal match! Sign up today.

Biking

Make the most of the Santa Monica climate; save time, money, and stay healthy

by riding your bike to SMC. It’s important to properly lock your bike. Starting this fall, bikes that are improperly locked will be impounded. See here for more info on the new bike parking policy. Members of the Associated Students, are eligible to receive free “stand time” and bike maintenance support through our Bikerowave. SMC Shuttles

SMC provides a shuttle service that runs from the Bundy campus and the Performing Arts Center. This shuttle is free and runs frequently. Students are encouraged to park at one of SMC’s many satellite or shuttle lots to avoid the traffic congestion around main campus. Park and Ride will save you time, money and the planet by reducing your idle and wait time.

Parking

If you plan to drive to campus, you should budget extra time for traffic and parking, which are particularly difficulty during the first two weeks of school. This year the residential parking restrictions have increased. This results in a costly fine. Please do not plan to park in the neighborhood! You can find detailed information on parking lots, decals, and other helpful info on our parking website.
