Global Motion
World Dance Company

Global Motion is a world dance performance company that expresses the concept of humanity in the form of global citizenship. The company is composed of SMC students who learn, rehearse and perform world dance styles. It provides students a platform to experience and learn about other cultures through world dance while working with choreographers who are professionals and experts in the field of world dance.

Dance Styles: West African, Central/South America, Asian, Ballet, Ballroom, Flamenco, French Neoclassical, Mexican Folklorico, Moldavian, Lyrical Jazz, Salsa, and more!

Contemporary Dance Ensemble

Jae Lee and Roberta Wolin-Tupas, Artistic Directors. Synapse Dance Theater—SMC contemporary dance ensemble for more than 35 years—showcases new repertory by guest and faculty artists, and student choreographers.
 
Faculty Choreographers: Sean Greene, Angela Jordan, Denise Leitner, Karen McDonald, Mark Tomasic, Roberta Wolin-Tupas 
Guest Artists: Brian Moe, Laura Smyth

Dance Styles: Modern to Postmodern, Jazz, Contemporary Ballet, Hip Hop, Fusion, and more!

Tickets sell out quickly for these performances. Advance tickets are highly recommended and may be purchased online (www.smc.edu/eventsinfo), or in person at the SMC Theatre Arts Box Office (SMC Main Campus) and 45 minutes beofre show time.
A modest service charge applies, go to Santa Monica College Events to view charges.
  • SMC STUDENTS: $15 SMC Student discount (2 tickets max per ID)--requires a valid SMC ID with current ASB. PLEASE NOTE: Purchasing at the discounted price online will require you to pick up your tickets at WILL CALL the day of the performance. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before show time in order to claim your ticket.
  • GENERAL: General Admission and At-the-Door price: $18
WITHOUT VALID SMC ID and UP-TO-DATE ASB sticker, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE OF A FULL PRICE TICKET at the door.
