PLATO Online Orientation

Welcome to the online PLATO orientation. In this orientation, you will learn about the technical requirements for PLATO and how to complete your assignments using PLATO courseware.

You might be wondering what PLATO is. PLATO is a web-based program that will help you improve your knowledge and skills in key academic areas such as Math, English, Science, and Reading. Because PLATO is web-based, it runs in your Internet browser. If you are using Windows, you must use Internet Explorer 7 or higher. If you are using a Mac, you must use Safari 3.2 or higher.

The orientation is divided into 9 different topics. On the left hand-side of the screen you will see the 9 different topics. When you click on each topic, an explanation will appear on the screen as well as a video for you to watch. The videos for the topics are located at the bottom of each page.

Please make sure to READ THE INFORMATION ON EACH PAGE AND WATCH EACH VIDEO. To learn how to use PLATO, start with the first topic at the top and work your way down the menu list.
