 Options                                           

 

1.  Consider starting your BSN now.  Students who have submitted an application and have been placed on the Santa Monica College Nursing Program waitlist have an opportunity to start BSN classes while waiting to enter the SMC Nursing Program*

2.  Consider concurrent enrollment for your BSN while working toward your ADN.  Students currently enrolled in the Santa Monica College Nursing Program have an opportunity to complete BSN courses concurrently with ADN courses.*

1.  Overall GPA 2.8
2.  Cumulative GPA in Sciences 3.0
3.  No academic probation
4.  No lack of progress probation
5.  Admissions Test Scores at or above
     117 NLN-PAX RN Composite Score
6.  Completion (grade C or better) of English Composition (English 1)
7.  Completion (grade C or better) of Critical Thinking (Philosophy 7 or English 2)
8.  Completion (grade C or better) of Oral Communication (Speech 1, 2, or 6)
9.  Completion (grade C or better) of Quantitative Reasoning (Math 54 equivalent or higher)

10. Completion (grade C or better) of College Chemistry (Integrated or Organic, no lab required)

Additional Criteria for Students Concurrently Enrolled in SMC Nursing Courses
a.  Grades of C or better in non-nursing courses in the ADN curriculum plan
b.  No Statements of Concern
c.  No Plans of Correction
d.  Grades of B or better in nursing courses

* Validation of the above requirements and selection to participate in the Nursing ADN to BSN Program will enable you to apply to the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) BSN nursing program without having obtained a licensure as a registered nurse.
