1.  Consider starting your BSN now.  Students who have submitted an application and have been placed on the Santa Monica College Nursing Program waitlist have an opportunity to start BSN classes while waiting to enter the SMC Nursing Program*

2.  Consider concurrent enrollment for your BSN/MSN while working toward your ADN.  Students currently enrolled in the Santa Monica College Nursing Program have an opportunity to complete BSN/MSN courses concurrently with ADN courses.*

 See a Nursing Counselor 
 to validate eligibility 

 

1.  Overall GPA 3.0
2.  Cumulative GPA in Sciences 3.0
3.  No academic probation
4.  No lack of progress probation
5.  Admissions Test Scores at or above
     80% TEAS Composite Score
     80% HESI Composite Score
     TBD NLN-PAX RN Composite Score
6.  Completion (grade C or better) of English Composition (English 1)
7.  Completion (grade C or better) of Critical Thinking (Philosophy 7 or English 2)
8.  Completion (grade C or better) of Oral Communication (Speech 1, 2, or 6)
9.  Completion (grade C or better) of Quantitative Reasoning (Math 52 equivalent or higher)

Additional Criteria for Students Concurrently Enrolled in SMC Nursing Courses
a.  Passing with B or better
b.  No Statements of Concern
c.  No Plans of Correction
d.  No nursing program course grade < C

* Validation of the above requirements and selection to participate in the Nursing ADN to MSN Educator Program will enable you to apply to either the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) BSN or MSN nursing programs without having obtained a licensure as a registered nurse.
