Coach Jenkins returns for his forth season as Head Coach for Santa Monica College Men's Basketball program. A native of Los Angeles, he graduated from Fairfax High School where we was a two time All-City player winning a Championship in 1985. He was an all-conference point guard for both L.A. City College (1986-87) and Southwestern Oregon C.C.(1987-88). He then attended Regis University in Denver, Colorado where he played two seasons (1988-1990) and led the team in assists and steals and received all-conference honors both years.

He graduated from Regis with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Physical Education. He worked as Assistant Coach at Regis from 1990-91. He then began coaching as Assistant Coach at Diablo Valley College from 1993-1995 and then as Associate Head Coach from 1995-1997. While at DVC, the team won three league titles and advanced to the Final Four in 1996-97. Jenkins then moved on to Eastern Washington University where he was Assistant Coach from 1997-99. After being an Assistant  at Sacramento State University for one season(1999-2000), Jenkins was promoted to the Head Coaching position, where he held that position for 8 years (2000-08).

He and his wife Mila have 3 children, daughter Jenae and twins Jalen and Jada.
