Professor Elaine Roque played professional indoor volleyball in the U.S and Europe and professional beach volleyball for 19 seasons. A former collegiate All-American at U.C.L.A. and Utah State, Professor Roque has published articles in national magazines and written and edited books for the Amateur Athletic Foundation. She also has a CD ROM titled “Core Training for Volleyball” that is sold worldwide and used for coaching training programs.
She has coached both men’s and women’s collegiate teams at the community college, NAIA and NCAA Division I levels as well as beach volleyball. She has worked with the U.S.A. junior national team and was a member of U.S.A. Volleyball’s Coaches’ Cadre. Professor Roque currently teaches volleyball, yoga, fitness classes, weight training and various majors’ classes. She holds a B.A. from Utah State University and an M.A. from U.C.S.B. She is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, AAPHERD, Iyengar Yoga National Association of the US, and the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association.
