Objectives

The objectives of this program are to prepare students for upper division study at a four-year college and/or to earn an associate in arts degree.

Transfer

Major Requirements

University of California, Berkeley

Complete as many lower division major requirements as possible before transfer. In general, applicants are selected primarily based upon strength of academic preparation and grade point average.

University of California, Davis

  • A.B. Sociology: Anthropology 2; Sociology 1, 2, 4. One course from the following: History 1, 2, 11, 12.

  • A.B. Sociology (Comparative Studies): Anthropology 2; Economics 1, 2; Geography 2 or Political Science 2 or Political Science 52 or Philosophy 52 (same as Political Science 52); Sociology 1, 4; coursework in language instruction in modern foreign language equivalent to 18 semester units.

  • A.B.Sociology (Law & Society): Socioloy 1, 2, 4; (5-7 semester units, two courses) from Anthropology 1 or 5; Economics 1, 2; History 1, 2, 11, 12; Political Science 1; Political Science 2 or 52 or Philosophy 52 (same as Political Science 52); Political Science 51 or or Philosophy 51 (same as Political Science 51); Psychology 1
