The Writing & Humanities Tutoring Center (WHTC) offers writing support services to all SMC students in all subject areas. Our goal is to help students become more confident, self-directed, and informed writers so that they can achieve greater academic and professional success.
Subjects for which tutoring is available in the WHTC:
The Center is located in Drescher Hall--Room 313.
WHTC Hours: Fall 2017
Closed: Friday, Nov. 10 (Veteran's Day); Friday, Nov. 17 (Meetings); Th & Fri, Nov. 23-24 (Thanksgiving)
8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.*
*Tutoring is available by appointment between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays.
Writing assistance is offered on a walk-in basis, or you may make an appointment.

To schedule an appointment for tutoring in economics or writing, please log in to your Corsair Connect and select the link for Tutoring Appointments, as shown below. Then, from the schedule menu, select the schedule for either English/Writing/Humanities or Economics.
Students in any SMC English course may receive online tutoring assistance by enrolling in English 1E: Section 2058: Online Tutoring: more information.

Help Wanted: Tutors with specialties in writing, economics, history, philosophy, psychology, or political science. Applicants must be full-time students (carrying a minimum of 12 units) at Santa Monica College. Please fill out a tutor employment application.
