Please download, read, and complete pages 1 and 2 (page 3 is for additional courses). Required signatures on the forms: Student, Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s), High School Counselor, and High School Principal.

To avoid misunderstandings, please be sure to complete the form completely in ink or electronically and do not use whiteout or correction tape. If you make a mistake or change your mind about a course, complete a new application form.

Admissions Office Contact and Office Hours

Location for turning in Applications.

Assessment Center

Location for taking the assessment test. No reservation needed, simply bring a valid photo ID and visit during Walk-In hours.

Office of Outreach

Location for meeting with college counselors and arranging campus tours. Contact them for SMC course or curriculum questions at 310-434-4189 or outreach@smc.edu.

Ordering SMC Transcripts

SMC transcripts can be ordered online.

There are many options for smoothly and easily getting to SMC, including by bus and Metro.

Plan ahead before visiting our campus.

Bursar's Office

Location for paying or resolving student fees in person, as well as getting an SMC student ID (you must first be enrolled in a class).

Bookstore

Location for purchasing books and classroom materials.

Disabled Student Program and Services (DSPS)

Location for assisting students with disabilities.

Campus Police

For emergencies or non-emergencies, or to report lost or stolen items, please contact our campus police.

Getting Waivers

If a student has college level English or math coursework from another institution, or has taken AP exams receiving a 3 or higher, they can request a placement/prerequisite waiver or meet with a counselor at the SMC Outreach Office in order to receive a prerequisite waiver. When visiting the Outreach Office be sure to call ahead to ensure a counselor is available. Bring a photo ID, know your SMC ID number, and have a copy of your other coursework or test results. Be sure to tell the office that you are there simply to get a math or English waiver.
