Priority Enrollment for Residents and Local Graduates
New at Santa Monica College
Now Santa Monica and Malibu residents—and graduating seniors and alumni from our local high schools—are eligible for priority enrollment for credit classes at Santa Monica College. Priority enrollment appointments are automatically granted to qualifying students.
New students must apply online and have completed pre-enrollment orientation, assessment, and education planning to qualify for priority enrollment.
Who is Eligible?
Current residents of Santa Monica and Malibu.
Graduating seniors and alumni of Santa Monica High, Malibu High, Olympic High, St. Monica Catholic High, Crossroads, and Lighthouse Academy, regardless of home address. F-1 visa students are not eligible for this program.
Returning and continuing students must be in good academic standing and have fewer than 30 credit units at SMC.
Please note that the State of California also requires certain populations, such as veterans and foster youth, to be granted priority enrollment. Also, note that the state does not allow SMC to offer priority enrollment to students currently enrolled in high school.
