How to Apply to SMC

Once you submit your online application, you will be issued an Application Identification Number (Application ID#).  You will also be matched with an Admissions Officer who will help you through the rest of the admissions process.  

Please upload all support documents listed below to your on-line application.  Do not mail any documents to Santa Monica College as paper documents will not be accepted.  

• Financial Statement - Sponsor's Official Bank Statement showing a minimum of $26,500 USD to demonstrate applicant can meet SMC's estimated tuition and living expenses.  Further financial information may be required. 
  
• Sample Bank Statement 
• I-134 Affidavit of Support 
  
• Copy of Passport information and expiration page. 
• Transcript of records from last school attended.  If the school was a college, university or high school within the US, official transcripts must be sent directly from the awarding institution to the International Admission Office at SMC. 
• Application Fee -The fee is $75.00  USD and is non-refundable
• Proof of English Proficiency - SMC_ISC_English_Proficiency.pdf - NOT required for admission to Intensive English Program. Applicants with TOEFL score of 500+ or the equivalent will be given preference.
• Essay - One page on why you wish to attend SMC. 
• Transfer-in-form (required only for student transferring from U.S. language institutes, colleges or universities) 
• NOTE: All students must be 18 years old at the time of initial attendance
