Transcript||Records from last school attended. If the school was a college, university or high school within the US, official transcripts must be sent directly from the awarding institution to the International Education Center at SMC.
US transcripts must show a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Note: All submitted documentation becomes the property of SMC International Education Center and cannot be returned.|
Application Fee||The fee to apply is $75.00 USD and is non-refundable|

SMC ISC English Proficiency - NOT required for admission to Intensive English Program.
Applicants with TOEFL score of 500+ or the equivalent will be given preference.|
Write a personal essay (must be at least 500 words) explaining your reason(s) for applying to Santa Monica College. Be sure to include the following information in your personal statement: What major do you want to study? Do you wish to earn an associate’s degree and/or transfer to a university? If you wish to transfer, which institution(s) do you intend to apply to for transfer?

Status Verification Form|
Required only for students transferring from U.S. language institutes, colleges, or universities.
For students currently attending language school, college, or university in the U.S. in F1 status, and transferring to SMC.
You must have your application completed, paid for, and all required documents uploaded by the dates posted above.
All students must be 18 years old at the time of initial attendance.
Applicants ages 16-17 by the first day of initial attendance will be considered provided the following special requirements are met.
Applicants to Santa Monica College must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the semester for which they apply.
Applicants under the age of 18 must have completed high school.
Applicants under the age of 18 must have a guardian that lives within 75 miles of the main campus of Santa Monica College (1900 Pico Blvd.)
The guardian can be a:
- Family member
- Family friend
- Home stay
The applicant’s guardian must be at least 18 years old
The applicant must provide the following documents, to be uploaded to their International Application
