On November 1, 2016, the CA Community College Chancellor’s Office through its Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) selected Santa Monica Community College District to receive a Leadership Development Funding Award. Out of 56 educational institutions submitting funding applications, only 20 were awarded funding.

The Office of Human Resources' proposal met specific criteria outlined in the award announcement, and proved to be among the most competitive within a large pool of applicants. The maximum grant available, $50,000, will be used to develop leadership relationships and skills across all employee groups as we work together to address campus-wide challenges and emerging issues.

We are excited about this new program which will run from Nov. 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017. Stay tuned for an exceptional opportunity!

Congratulations to our SMC HR Team including Tre’Shawn Hall-Baker and Laurie Heyman (who spearheaded the grant request).
