​About Computer Labs at SMC

A Message from Academic Computing

Your wellbeing and that of our staff is priority. In an effort to exercise social distancing and minimize transmission of COVID-19, SMC has temporarily suspended all computer labs on campus. All learning are moved to remote instruction. Your course instructors will provide details on their respective class.

To assist you with any Student account related questions, such as SMC Network accounts, Gmail, Office365, please email StudentITHelp@smc.edu  Our staff will respond to your inquiry thorough emai.

  • All computer labs are closed on days when classes are not in session.
  • Daily schedules are subject to change without advance notice.
  • Labs usually keep the same hours in fall and spring semesters.
  • Regular hours may change in winter and spring sessions.
  • Department Computer Labs available.

Cayton Associated Students Computer Lab

  • Located in the Cayton Center building, Room 209 (above the cafeteria).

  • 92 PCs available only to current members of the student association SMC Associated Students (A.S.)

  • Free printing from a $15 printing credit for A.S. members. Color printing and monochrome (black) are both available.

Library Computer Commons and Computer Workstations

  • Located in the Library Building, in the basement Computer Commons (1st Floor North) and on the 2nd floor.

  • 168 PCs available to currently enrolled students

  • 8 computers available for visitors along the walls near the Reference Desk in the basement (1st Floor North).

  • Internet access for laptops

Library computers are available whenever the Library is open.

Computer Science and Information Systems Lab

  • Location: Business 231 (enter lab from the outside patio)

  • 93 PCs and 8 Apple iMacs available to currently enrolled students

  • Priority goes to students in CS or CIS classes

Science Computer Lab

  • Location: Science 240

  • 35 PCs available to currently enrolled students

  • Priority goes to students currently enrolled in Life Science or Physical Science classes

  • Science Learning Resource Center (with tutors, a few PCs) is next door in Room 245

    • ​8 PCs available for currently enrolled students

Bundy Learning Resource Center Lab

  • Location: Bundy Campus Room 116, 1st floor

  • 23 PCs available to currently enrolled students

  • Location: CMD Campus, Building D, Room 217

  • Priority goes to students in CMD or editing classes
