Eavesdropping on Leadership
You are invited to an informal and wide-ranging conversation between former Speaker of the California Assembly and current Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa and former Speaker of the California Assembly and current nominee for Congress, Karen Bass, moderated by Institute Founding Director and former California State Senator Sheila Kuehl.
Public policy, in a representative democracy, is often formulated and adopted by a small group of people, but impacts the daily lives of millions of Californians. Please join us as the Public Policy Institute explores how policy is made, factors that influence or affect decision-making, and how individuals, organizations and local governments can participate to get a word in edgewise.
