Lady Corsair Dominate LA Valley To Earn 4-0 Victory
SMC controlled the game from the very beginning and rolled by the LA Valley Monarchs to move to 4-1-3 in conference play. Team Captain Olivia Patterson led the team with two assists and Meg Pierce led the team with two goals as the Lady Corsairs controlled the pace of the game. Defensively SMC kept the ball on the Monarchs side of the field and helped goalkeeper Katherine Alvarenga record the shutout. LA Valley had only two shots on goal for the game.
With the score 1-0 at the half the Corsairs exploded in the second half and scored three goals to push the lead to 4-0. Desiree Kober and Sarah Barrington each added a goal for SMC, and Gabby Rodriguez and Ally Bustos each added an assist. The Lady Corsairs try to improve to 5-1-3 when they host Glendale Tuesday at 3:00pm on Corsair Field.
