What is the Internship Orientation?
This is a required meeting for students at the beginning the internship, before enrolling in the internship class. Students who have attended an Orientation in a previous semester need not attend again.
Students receive all the pertinent information regarding internship responsibilities, how to make the most of their internship, etc in the Internship Orientation. There are no weekly class meetings for the internship class. It is an online class.
The Internship Orientation meetings usually take place at the beginning of each semester, and before the semester begins. The orientations are normally not for students who are still searching for an internship. Students who are looking for internship opportunities are invited to Internship Drop-In Meetings for help! (Also check out our "Finding Internship Opportunities" page.)
DROP-IN TIMES: Mondays 2:30-4:30 p.m., Tuesdays 10 a.m. – noon, Wednesdays 3 – 5 p.m., Thursdays 10 a.m. – noon.
IMPORTANT! Only attend an Internship Orientation if:
- You have found an internship
- You are a continuing SMC student (were enrolled at SMC the previous full semester in at least 6 units)
- You would like to enroll in an Internship Class
Seating is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Please be on time as latecomers will not be admitted.
