Child Care Access Means Parents in Schools (CCAMPIS Program)
The CCAMPIS Program is authorized by the Higher Education Act and administered by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of CCAMPIS is to increase access to post-secondary education for low-income parents by providing quality, affordable and accessible child care services while they further their education.
Through the CCAMPIS program, SMC student parents may be eligible to receive free child care for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children while attending Santa Monica College. With the guidance of program staff, students that qualify may select a high-quality, licensed child care option near campus or their home. CCAMPIS pays the provider 100% of childcare costs.
Note: Santa Monica College doe s NOT have an onsite child care facility. We provide child care referrals and pay 100% of the child care costs for eligible students.
To qualify for the CCAMPIS Program:
- SMC students must be receiving a Pell Grant or be Pell Grant eligible based on the FAFSA Application. A FAFSA must be completed and on file with the SMC Financial Aid Office.
- Students must be enrolled full-time, with a minimum of 12-units per semester
- Maintain good academic progress each semester (GPA of 2.0 or higher)
