Santa Monica College is hosting a DACA renewal processing event for SMC and our community. Renewal is available for beneficiaries whose benefits are already expired, or will expire within 150 days.

  • Most recent approval notice (Notice I-797)
  • Employment Authorization Card/Work Permit
  • California ID Card
  • Social Security Card
  • 2 Passport-style Photos
  • Criminal History (if Applicable, court disposition, etc.)
  • USCIS Filing Fee of $495 (check or money order) - The SMC Foundation will provide scholarships for the fee to those in need.

September 22-24, 29-30 and October 1, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Public Counsel (610 S. Ardmore Ave., Los Angeles, CA 9005)

September 30 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and October 2 (3 - 8 p.m.) in Los Angeles Council District 9

The Office of Councilman Curren Price, in collaboration with immigrant rights groups CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights) and CARECEN (Central American Resource Center), will host two emergency DACA renewal workshops to assist DREAMers before a crucial Oct. 5 deadline.

Applicants who live in the Ninth District may receive full assistance to pay the $495 DACA renewal fee, subsidized by the Office of Councilman Price. DACA recipients with an expiration date on or before March 5, 2018 are urged to renew their permits before the looming Oct. 5, 2017 deadline.

The FREE workshops will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 at Green Meadows Recreation Center from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Monday, Oct. 2 at Councilman Curren Price’s District Office from 3-8 p.m.

Free Immigration Screening Workshops in Downtown L.A.

Every Tuesday, 2 - 5 p.m. by appointment only at The Karsh Center (3750 W. 6th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90020)

Advancing Justice-LA staff trained in DACA provide one-on-one assistance with each attendee in one of the following areas:

  • Initial DACA application
  • DACA Renewal application
  • Expanded DACA or DAPA eligibility screening

Attendees are taught to self-file their DACA applications. These workshops are by appointment only.
