This workshop will provide detailed information regarding the cost structure of a Bachelor's degree and what funding options are available to student's.  Federal, state, and institutional financial aid will be reviewed as well as unrestricted scholarship opportunities.​

How to Transfer to USC (University of Southern California)

SMC is the top transfer California Community College to USC! Bruce Grier, the man who makes transfer admission decisions, will be giving an information session about admission requirements.

Transferring to Private Elite Universities

Elite Private universities are typically institutions with a 10% or less admission acceptance rate. Attend a workshop to learn about what these colleges and universities look for in a transfer applicant.

Common Application Workshops

The Common Application is a web based application that is used by over 600 local and out of state colleges and universities (e.g. USC, Pepperdine, and LMU to name a few). An SMC counselor will explain how to complete the Common Application.

Open Computer Labs

During open lab times students will work on the transfer application live (limited computers will be available. Personal laptops are encouraged). Bring copies of transcripts from all colleges attended. Personal insight questions will not be read during this time.

I'm Admitted! Next Steps for Transfer (Financial Aid, Housing, etc.)

Information on the final steps to complete a successful transfer will be covered. For example, sending final transcripts, GE certification, and attendin​g orientation at your transfer institution.
