Media Services
General information
Media Services is located to the right of the front lobby. Our regular service hours are Monday thru Thursday 7:30am-10:00pm, Friday 7:30am-5:00pm. We are closed on weekends. The department telephone number is ext. 4352.
A/V Duplication Services
We
offer video tape, CD and DVD duplication services. All requests must be
college related and duplication stock must be provided to media
personnel in advanceof the duplication service. Average turnaround for
A/V duplication requests is 3-5 business days.
SMC Media Services
observes U.S. Copyright Law as stipulated in Title 17 U.S. Code. We
reserve the right to refuse any request that may violate U.S. Copyright
Law.
A/V Equipment
A/V (Audio/Visual) equipment designed for instructional support and presentation is available in the Media Center. We currently stock multimedia presentation carts, radio/cassette players, TV/DVD/VHS sets, overhead projectors and other miscellaneous items. To make a reservation, simply stop by the Media Center or call us at ext. 4352.
The Academy of Entertainment & Technology, Airport Arts Campus, Bundy Campus, Emeritus College and the Madison School site all have multimedia carts, but they are managed by their respective on-site coordinators. Please contact External Program at ext. 3703 for external campus information.
Electronic Repair
Our electronic repair services cover all college audio/visual equipment. Please contact Fred Zimmerman (Electronic Equipment Technician) if you experience problems or need preventative maintenance on college A/V equipment. Regular service hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm. The direct line for this area is ext. 4833.
Hotline support for any issues related to SMART classrooms can be made at ext. 4352.
Media Production Services
Media production services can be requested by SMC faculty and staff. Please contact Al DeSalles (Manager, Media & Reprographic Services) at ext. 4831 for all your media production requests.
SMC Cable Television
Santa Monica College Television is owned and operated by the Santa Monica Community College District (SMCCD). Our station provides information on programs, events and class schedules to viewers in the City of Santa Monica.
Requests for promotion of college events, over the campus TV channel, should be directed to Bruce Smith, Public Information Office, at ext. 4904.

Video Library
The Media Center
houses a collection of VHS videos for instructional usage. All in-house
films and videos are currently catalogued and indexed according to
subject and discipline. All available content on VHS or DVD has been
previously recorded by SMC personnel using college owned video
cameras/microphones. Video Library content can be checked out at the
Audio/Video counter.
