Photography majors learn the dynamics of visual communication to illustrate an idea, record an event, articulate a story, capture a mood, sell a product, or interpret someone’s character. Photographers often specialize in a particular type of subject matter or genre, such as advertising, architecture, editorial, fashion, food, people or photojournalism.
Instruction focuses on the principles of image control directly in camera; enhancement of design and production through lighting techniques; image editing enhancements and high quality output - all of which contributes to a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum that prepares students for the professional photographic industry.
Photography offers both an Associate of Arts degree and a comprehensive Certificates of Achievement in photography.
