| Step 1: Application | Complete the free online admission application. Click on "Step 1" to access the SMC online Application. | ||
| Step 2: Orientation | Orientation provides information about the campus and student success, including educational options, course planning, enrollment procedures, and the transfer process. Click on "Step 2" to begin the online orientation. | ||
| Step 3: Assessment | Assessment in math, and English or ESL, is mandatory for new students. These placement tests will help you select classes compatible with your skill level. Visit the assessment website for sample questions to help prepare you for these tests which are administered on the SMC campus. Click on "Step 3" for Assessment information. | ||
| Step 4: Counseling | Visit our Welcome Center to meet with a counselor who will help you select your classes and plan your schedule. Click on "Step 4" for information on the Welcome Center. | ||
| Step 5: Enrollment | You are assigned an enrollment date after you complete orientation. At your assigned time, you may enroll for your classes online or by telephone. Click on "Step 5" for Enrollment Instructions. | ||
| Step 6: Fee Payment and Financial Aid | Fees must be paid each term, by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Fees may be paid online, by telephone or in person. Financial Aid assists eligible students through state and federal programs. Click on "Step 6" for more information. | ||
