Susan Aminoff, a Santa Monica resident for 25 years, was elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2004. She served as vice chair in 2006 and chair in 2007.
Dr. Aminoff, a sociology professor at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, has been active in several community college organizations and projects. She has served since 1999 as the chair of the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee of the Los Angeles Faculty Guild. She also serves on the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges’ Health Care Committee and the California Federation of Teachers Retirement Committee. She developed and administered the ENCORE Emeritus College for Lifelong Learning at Pierce College.
Dr. Aminoff has also served on the Advisory Board of the Center for Healthy Aging in Santa Monica.
Her children are graduates of Santa Monica public schools.
She received her bachelor's degree in sociology from State University of New York at Stony Brook and a master's in gerontology and master’s and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Southern California.
