STEP 4:  COUNSELING

All students at Santa Monica College are encouraged to meet with a counselor.  At the Welcome Center, we provide counseling for all new SMC students, whether you are a transfer student or a brand new college student.

Our Welcome Center Counselors can assist students in developing a Student Educational Plan for their first semester.  Students should have their assessment scores available so that counselors can help them choose the appropriate classes.  After your first semester, we encourage you to meet with a counselor in the Counseling Complex.  (http://www.smc.edu/counseling/)
