Out-Of-State Students

Thank you for your interest in Santa Monica College. We enroll students from 47 of the 50 states in the USA. As you know, we are the number one transfer college in California, and we are an excellent place to begin your education.

We have an outstanding educational program, wonderful professors, and a wide variety of classes. Internships, job opportunities, and career counseling are available for all students.

Cost. Out-of-State students pay non-resident fees of $155 per unit in addition to the $26 resident fees. However, in many cases, it is possible to establish residency after one year. The first year, as an out-of-state student, you will pay out-of-state fees, and the second year, if you become a California resident, you will pay resident fees. Please contact the Admission Office for additional details.

Housing. Santa Monica College does not have residence halls, but we do help students locate suitable housing. Santa Monica College has a housing specialist who will assist you with local real estate listings and rentals. Teresa Morris may be reached at morris_teresa@smc.edu or at 310-434-4126.
