Appealing Admission Decisions Workshops 
What are your chances if you appeal? This workshop will help students understand and craft an appeal to have their admission decision reconsidered. For students denied admission for Fall 2009.
Application Workshops 
In these workshops we will cover the entire application process. Accurate completion of the application is CRITICAL to ensure maximum consideration for admission. Santa Monica College has 32,000 full and part-time students, and 3,000 International students from 100 different countries. SMC transfers more students to the entire 10 campus University of California system than any other school or university in the world!
SMC is number one in transfers to UCLA, University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount University, and Pepperdine University. SMC also transfers the most African-American and Chicano/Latino students to the University of California.

Choices 
Choices is a California Career Information Database (it is not a website) and can be accessed on any computer in the Career Services Center. Choices has an assessment area where you learn about yourself and careers that may appeal to you. Additionally, Choices has areas where you can find out about occupations, colleges and majors specific to California and includes the outlook and salary of all listed careers in the database.

Congratulatory Admission Workshops 
This workshop will present information on the remaining steps to complete a successful transfer to your university or college. For example, sending final transcripts, IGETC certification and attending orientation and recommending coursework for your first semester or quarter at your transfer institution. For transfer students admitted for Fall 2009.
Educational Transfer Resources 
The Transfer/Counseling Center has an extensive library of books to help students identify, select, and fund an education after transfer. In addition, some career resource books are available. Identifying a career or occupation can help select an appropriate transfer institution.
Guaranteed Transfer Admission Programs 
Santa Monica College students can get guaranteed admission to a variety of UC, CSU and private colleges. But you need to fulfill certain requirements and deadlines, and in some case, fill out a contract. And you have guarantees to more than one campus! A complete list of guaranteed admission programs is available.

How To Transfer To UCLA And Other UC's 
Designed to help students that want to transfer in Fall 2010 to UCLA or to some of the UC's that are open in Winter 2010. You might have a great great point average (GPA), but if you take the wrong classes, even a 4.0 won't help. Find out what will help.
How To Transfer To USC (University of Southern California) 
Hear from the man that makes the admission decisions what it takes to be a competitive applicant. This workshop is only offered once in the Spring and Fall.
Why don't some of the "best" universities offer a business major? Can I still work in business without a business degree? What are the differences between the business and economics major? These are some of the questions we will address in this workshop.

UCLA Transfers Talk About Bruin Life! 
This workshop is for students admitted to UCLA for Fall 2009 ONLY. UCLA students that have transferred will share their experiences on the transition from community college to UCLA, the good and not so good. Learn about academic and social highs and lows.
NOTE: There will be no information presented about admission requirements.
This workshop is offered in the spring semester.
UC Personal Statement Workshops 
Discussion on topics of the personal statement will be given, as well as suggestions on how to prepare a solid essay.
