Santa Monica College (SMC) High School College Programs

Get to the forefront by taking college classes while still in high school. You may be eligible to receive both college units and high school credit.  Many of the classes offered transfer to the University of California and California State University Systems. 

College level classes are free to High School Students who are California residents. Take college classes through our exciting summer program on the Santa Monica College Campus.

These classes for high school students are on the Santa Monica College (SMC) campus. Located in Santa Monica, California, SMC is conveniently located for students residing in Culver City, Inglewood Los Angeles, Malibu, Mar Vista, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Westchester, Westwood, West Los Angeles, and other west side communities.

Our program will work to assist students in gaining skills and develop core knowledge in the programs and classes in which they participate. This will help to prepare them for careers in various sectors of developing high-wage high-demand professions and industries. We also hope to give high school students a head-start on gaining acceptance into Santa Monica College esteemed programs. Santa Monica College High School Programs are designed to provide classroom and hands-on instruction in various areas that may eventually lead to careers or advanced educational opportunities.

Santa Monica College maintains a proud tradition of preparing students for transfer to UCLA, and other institutions within the University of California and California State University system.  SMC students also transfer in large numbers to private educational institutions.  In addition to UCLA, we are located close to other four-year institutions, including the University of Southern California (USC), Loyola Marymount University (LMU) and Pepperdine University.  Santa Monica College is steps from the Pacific Ocean.  Also nearby are the Santa Monica Mountains.  Santa Monica College offers small classes taught by instructors committed to helping students achieve their educational goals.
