Naomi Hirahara, Edgar-winning author; Hector Tobar, Christopher Meeks and Percival Everett are this year's Literary Series Lecture Speakers.  The Distinguished Scientist Series features Dr. Kenneth G. Libbrecht, Professor of Physics and Chair of the Physics Department at Caltech; Dr. Sean Anderson and Dr. Glen MacDonald, biogeographer and award-winning researcher and teacher at UCLA.

The Global Connection series features Kamran Pasha, writer-producere of "Kings"; Dr. Reuven Firestone and  Dr. Kal Raustiala. The UC Press lecture series brings Peter Asmus, author of "California Energy: Sustainable Solutions for the 21st century".  And last but not the least:  Dr. David Hayes-Bautista as the special speaker for the Latino Heritage Month.
