INTEGRITY & CONDUCT

community, faculty and students alike, must assume responsibility
for providing an educational environment of the highest standards,
characterized by a spirit of academic honesty; therefore, under no
circumstances will academic dishonesty be tolerated at this institution.”

To
help you understand and observe SMC’s
Code
of Academic Conduct and
Student
Conduct Code, the Assessment Center staff will delineate
for you your responsibilities as a test-taker. Violations such as cheating,
fabrication or falsification of information, plagiarism, abuse of academic
materials, and complicity in academic dishonesty, continued disruptive
behavior, continued willful disobedience, habitual profanity, etc.,
will result in an immediate referral to the office of Student Judicial
Affairs. Cheating on any exam or willful disregard for assessment protocol
will result in forfeiture of your test results and inability to retest
for a minimum period of three months.
Assessment Center Rules of Conduct
Please note that
by taking any test provided through the Assessment Center, you agree
to follow verbal, written, or electronic directions given to you. Ignoring
these will result in the immediate termination of your test and forfeiture
or test results.
Computerized
Testing:
Note that your English/ESL/Math test concludes when test results are
displayed on your screen. You are not to reinitiate the testing program;
re-enter your personal information; or start a new test unless you have
expressly been directed to do so by the supervising proctor. To do so
will be deemed a willful intent to retake a test without authorization
and is in violation of the Assessment center’s testing policies
and the SMC Student Conduct Code (Administrative Regulation 4410, sections
A, G, H, K, M, and P). Failure to observe the above will result in:
- cancellation
of test results;
- inability to
retest for a minimum period of three months;
- retesting fee
of $10 per test;
- referral to
the Office of Student Judicial Affairs for disciplinary action.
