Concurrent Enrollment Students:

High School Concurrent Enrollment permits high school students the opportunity to enroll in courses at Santa Monica College or at the high school site for educational enrichment. The purpose of the program is to provide “advanced scholastic,” “educational enrichment opportunities for a limited number of eligible pupils” as defined by Education Code, Section 48800 and 76002.

All students must meet the following qualifications:

You must have completed the 9th grade by the beginning of the term you are applying to attend.

You must take both the Santa Monica College English Placement Test and the SMC Math Placement Test. There is no minimum score needed for the math test, except if trying to qualify for a math course. You must, however, test into Level B English (English 21A) or higher in order to qualify to take any SMC course while still in high school.

Placement results from any other college will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Peabody Test Information

Some students may be required to complete the Peabody test. Appointments may be arranged by calling 310-434-4012. The student must be available to take the test between 9 AM and 3 PM. Further information on the Peabody may be found here.
