Last week Santa Monica College men’s and women’s swim
teams participated in the Western State Conference Championships. The
women placed third and the men finished 4th. The qualifiers for State
Championships are Isabella Zhang (Conference Champion 50 and 100 free
also setting a new conference record with her time of 53.11 in the 100
free. She was also second in the 50 butterfly. Also qualifying was
Conference champion Lysandra Carter-Aaron in the 50 butterfly and she
qualified for state in the 50 and 100 free as well. Joining Isabella and
Lysandra at the state championships will be the members of the 200 and
400 freestyle relay teams and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams; Corey
Duffy, Karen Nalasco, Vi Mababa and diver Sara Ritz. |
