Career Counseling

Individual Career Counseling: Counselors work individually with students to help them explore career interests, clarify work values, evaluate job skills, and see how their personalities fit into the world of work. Students work with counselors to explore specific majors and careers and set goals regarding career choices.


Career Planning classes: Eight-week one-unit classes on career planning. See the listings for Counseling 12 in the Schedule of Classes or on this website under "Students-Career Planning".

NEW Counseling 16 class:  Job Success Skills. A one-unit, eight-week class on how to succeed in the workplace.  See the listing for Counseling 16 in the Schedule of Classes or on this website under "Students-Career Planning"

Career Information Systems: Utilization of on-line Password available Career Information Systems for Santa Monica College Students only.


Career Resource Library: Extensive collection of career reference books.


Career Information: Labor market information (Example: Will your future job still exist in 5 years from now?), job descriptions, salaries, recommended preparation, and preferred skills.
