Center for Environmental and Urban Studies

The Center for Environmental and Urban Studies (CEUS) is an information and research center for students, faculty and the surrounding community; located across the street from the southeast end of Santa Monica College's main campus.

Housing SMC's Environmental Affairs Committee and Eco-Action Club, Sustainable Works, the Environmental Resource Library, and environmental career, job and volunteer postings; the CEUS is an information point source for campus environmentalism and university environmental programs.

The CEUS building features the following as an educational demonstration model:

• Solar panels, compact flourescent lights and day lighting
• Energy Star appliances and computers
• Native plant garden, dual-flush toilet, rain barrel and waterbroom
• Recycled, reused and reclaimed supplies
• Comprehensive recycling program, including e-waste and worm composting
• Low-and no-VOC interior paint and alternate cleaning chemicals
