SUBJECT:                 Request for Associated Students Representative as liaison

Action Item No. 1

It is recommended that the Classified Senate review and approve proposed invitation for a student representative from Associated Students to serve as a liaison as part of our inclusiveness in shared governance.

Comment:  With the current state of affairs of the college and with so much talk of shared governance we would like to respectfully request that Classified Senate open a seat for a representative from Associated Students to be appointed as a liaison.  If shared governance is to work, we need to start setting an example.

It is recommended that the Classified Senate review and approve proposed resolution to be delivered during Classified Senate Report to the Board of Trustees on Monday, September 15, 2003.

Comment:  The Executive Committee feels this would be a good opportunity for Classified Senate to speak up in unison.
