MISSION STATEMENT:  We are committed to promoting the development of classified staff through the process of participatory/shared governance.

 

Classified Senate met on September 8, 2004 in Business Bldg., Room 111.

 

President, Carl Gettleman Called Meeting to Order: 12:10 p.m.

 

Quorum Present: President, Carl Gettleman; Vice President, Amelia Trejo; Recording Secretary, Vinnessa Pierce and                                                                                                          Treasurer, Maria Bonin.

 

Members Present:  Daniel Rojas, Giovanni Vela, Steve Levine, Joanne Guercio, Maria Bonin, Gayle Sosa, Amelia Trejo, Martha Jimenez, Robert Ponce, Vinnessa Pierce, Miguel Reyes, Carl Gettleman, Sasha Agard, Phil Hendricks, Ana Jara, Barbara Siegel, Connie Lemke, Alicia Romo, Karen Monzon, Lee Peterson, Linda Davis, Thomas Carter, Trena Johnson, Tony Prestby.

New Business: Governance Structure Workgroup

A.  Motion by: Lee Peterson: That 3 people be designated appointees by the Classified Senate and the recommendation be made that 3 people be appointed from the CSEA for participation in the Governance Structure Workgroup.

Vote on Motion:  13 yea   6 nay    2 abstentions

 
B. Motion by: Lee Peterson:  That the 3 appointees for the Governance Structure Workgroup regularly report back to the Classified Senate.

Move to end discussion :  15 yea   1 nay   6 abstentions

C. Move to appoint Amelia Trejo, Miguel Reyes and Sasha Agard to represent the Classified Senate.

Move to end debate:  12 yea   8 nay 2 abstentions

D. Chair Entertained Motion to: To limit debate to speaking twice
