Minutes of Special Meeting

September 16, 1999

 

 

Members present:    Helen Athanitis, Jim Galligan, Jeannette Goolsby, Ana Greenberg, Joanne     Guercio, Mary-John Hart, Philip Hendricks, Deborah Jansen, Steve Levine,            Gloria Mottler, Lee Peterson, Tony Prestby, Pat Preston, Garrett Ramos, Barbara Siegel, Marilyn Simons, Judy White

 

Members absent:     Thomas Carter, Olga Chao, Florence Dick-Pineiro, Dominique Duclair*,       Kate Greiner*, Thelma Hoffman, Andi Hyman, Martha Jimenez-Alvarez,

                                 Jackie Portal-Purdy*, Amelia Trejo

                                 *Excused absence

The meeting was called to order at 12:15 P.M. 

 

Action Item I:           Selection of Personnel Commissioner Screening Committee Rep. –

                                 After discussion the following Senators were nominated to represent             Classified employes on the Personnel Commissioner Screening         Committee:    

                                          Steve Levine

                                          Lee Peterson

                                          Marilyn Simons

 

                                 The candidates introduced themselves and the vote was taken by secret      ballot.   Lee Peterson will be sent forth as the representative, with Steve            Levine to serve as alternate.

 

                                 A motion to destroy the ballots passed unanimously.

 

Information Item:    Business Cards – Tony Prestby updated the Senators regarding the             ordering of business cards.  The individuals who coordinate the ordering of      business cards had not been informed of the new business card policy.      Tony will take the matter up in a meeting with Robert Sammis.

 

New Business:       Lee Peterson suggested that the Classified Senate sponsor a compilation    of campus policies for distribution to all classified employees.  This will be        taken under advisement and will be discussed at a future Senate meeting.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
