Welcome
Santa Monica College makes every effort to make
its campus fully accessible to students with disabilities. The College's
Center for Students with Disabilities offers guidance and counseling on
admissions requirements and procedures, as well as a number of special
programs to help students with their academic, vocational, and career
planning goals. In addition, the Center offers services such as tutoring,
specialized equipment, test proctoring, among many other accommodations
for students who are eligible.
Through the Center for Students with Disabilities, students
have access to:
Classes in personal and social awareness, independent living skills,
adaptive physical education, study skills, and adaptive computer technology.
These classes are listed in the college's schedule
of classes under the department "Counseling - Disabled Student
Services."
The Learning Disabilities Program, which
provides educational assessment, study strategies training, and appropriate
accommodations for students with learning disabilities.
Customized exercise programs for students who can benefit from them.
The High Tech Training Center, designed
to train students with disabilities in the use of adapted computer technology.
The Acquired Brain Injury Program, which
promotes reentry into academic and vocational programs.
Pathfinders, a stroke recovery group
under the guidance of Emeritus College that is designed to support adults
who have disabilities due to a stroke.
Services and staff for students with disabilities are
available in three locations on SMC's Main Campus
The Center for students with Disabilities, located in the north side of
campus, next to Admissions, is open Monday through Thursday from
8 a.m. to 7 p.m and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information,

The High Tech Training Center, located in
the north side of campus, behind Admissions in Room SS103, is open Monday and Wednesday
from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For
