How to apply to SMC’s Teacher Academy
- Print and Complete the Teacher Academy application (PDF).
- Submit the application to Jose Cue at the Teacher Academy EPICenter located at Library Village 125. You may also submit the application to the Bundy Campus office, room 116C.
- Make sure to schedule an appointment with a Teacher Academy Counselor soon after submitting your application to create an educational plan.
- When scheduling an appointment, be sure to tell the appointment desk that you are considering a career in Education.
Once admitted into the Teacher Academy:
- Attend a Future Educators’ Club meeting and meet other Teacher Academy students
- Get information about financial aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov) or SMC scholarships (434-4343)
- Select needed SMC courses for transfer to the campus of your choice
- Enroll in Education 1 as well as other courses specified by your counselor
If you are not an SMC student:
- Complete SMC admissions application, apply online at www.smc.edu/admissions.
- Take SMC’s English and math placement tests, if you have not completed any college English or math classes. For more information on these tests go to www.smc.edu/assessment.
- Complete the SMC new student online orientation at www.smc.edu/orientation/.
- Apply for a SMC student email account at http://student.smc.edu/
- Complete the Teacher Academy application (PDF)
