EARLY ALERT NOTIFICATION

You will receive Early Alert rosters during the third week of the semester. The purpose of these is to notify the Counseling Center of students who are in academic difficulty so that they can be provided with appropriate support services. They will arrive with instructions on how to complete them. Please be sure to complete and return them by the deadline, usually by the end of the fifth week of classes. You are required to notify those students whose names have been submitted; you can do this by talking to them in person or over the phone or writing them a note (including on a returned test or quiz). Some instructors use a form that can be attached to a returned assignment. You should have a test or quiz scheduled before these are due so that you have some basis on which to fill them out.

We have a moral and legal obligation to help students succeed. Thank you for completing the early alert rosters, and for doing whatever else you do to help your students succeed.
