The California Department of Health Services, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association advise that you make healthy food choices a habit.  By eating smart, you can live healthier and reduce your risk of developing serious health problems like cancer, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke.

Eat five-a-day of fruits and vegetables is an easy way to improve your health and reduce the risks of illness.  Fruits: apples, bananas, cantaloupe, grapes, oranges, peaches, strawberries, plus many more. Vegetables: avocado, broccoli, carrots, celery, greens, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, plus many others.

What can you eat while on Campus?  Cut the fat in Fast Foods by eating less fried foods, less processed meats, and less cheese; eat more baked or broiled foods, high-fiber foods, like whole grains, beans, fruits, vegetables; drink water instead of soft drinks.  Daily changes in your food choices can lead to a healthier life.
