Ganado, Kai
Kai, teaching at SMC since 1985, is an Associate
Faculty in the KDR Department Dance Program. Kai Ganado received his Master of
Arts Degree in Dance Performance& Choreography at UCLA Dance Department:
Graduate Dance Center in 1985.
Kai Ganado, a former featured soloist with Jose
Limon Co. in NYC, has been on the faculties of UCLA, UCI, CSULB, CIT, FSU and
the Theater/Dance Academy of Finland in Helsinki. He received a Dramalogue Award
for co-writing "Strange Country, This" in which he also performed as
an actor, singer, dancer and choreographer. In movement education, Kai is a
practitioner of Laban Movement Analysis and is a personal trainer in the Methods
& Machines of Joseph H. Pilates. He has given master workshops for the
Calif. Association of Health, Physical Education, Re-creation and Dance (CAHPERD),
and the California Dance Educators Association (CDEA). Also, Kai has created a
system of mind-body movement integration called "Body Harmonics".
