Pell, Iris
Iris Pell teaches Modern Dance and Ballet
techniques and has been on the Santa Monica College Faculty since 1984.
Ms. Pell performed internationally at the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company for
twelve years and has a strong “Lewitzky” influence in her Modern Dance style;
she also studied with many other great teachers: Pauline Koner, Donald McKayle,
Mia Slavenska, Stanley Holden, Margaret Hills and Maria Zintgraff.
Iris is an independent choreographer/performer and has created original
choreography for Synapse Dance Theater at Santa Monica College. Ms. Pell
received her MFA in Dance from UCLA and her BFA in dance from California
Institute of the Arts.
