Jones Retraces Steps in Europe Trip Last August, theatre arts professor Janie Jones (above, with 89-year-old Danish “mother” Birthe Behrendt) took a three-month travel quest to Europe to retrace her steps from three pivotal periods in her life. Emeritus College Receives $1 Million Gift
The SMC Foundation has announced that it has received a $1.038 million gift from the estate of Zelda Herman (above) for SMC’s renowned Emeritus College for older adults – the largest ever to Emeritus College and the fourth largest in the history of SMC. Full Story >>


Accreditation Team Commends SMC, Makes Recommendations
SMC was commended March 11 for many of its programs and practices, and also received several recommendations from an accreditation team. SMC President Dr. Chui L. Tsang feted the accreditation team, including Cosumnes River College ESL professor Lisa Marchand (above) at a reception March 8 in the SMC Art Gallery. Full Story >>
