Internship
and Cooperative Work Experience (CWE):
- On-the-job learning relating to students'
educational or career goals
- Usually a maximum of 4 units per semester
- Allows a total of 16 units overall.
-
Students are required to enroll in 7 or more units at SMC
during the fall and spring semesters
including the internship class. During the summer and
winter sessions, students are required to enroll in an extra
3-unit class in addition to at least one-unit of internship
credit. Students may avoid the
unit requirement during the summer and winter sessions if they have been
enrolled in 7 units at SMC the previous semester.
- CWE often requires concurrent enrollment
in another class in the major.
