“There are no new legitimate theaters being built in America. Government subsidies for the Arts have all but vanished and so the culture canister of the average American community is sadly evaporating. Not so at Santa Monica – and all its surrounding beneficiaries – thanks to Santa Monica College and its awesome State of the Art Madison Theater Project. Where and why the passion and purpose (not to mention the countless millions) for this historic deliverance?? Nobody knows yet – I only know I’ve been afforded an early hard-hat tour through the half-completed building complex and it took my breath away. The Kennedy’s said it before every challenging endeavor – Why Not? And Santa Monica College put it gloriously to work with their proud Madison Palace.”
