Come honor
Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Santa Monica College’s
6th annual celebration. The evening will explore artistic expression
relating to the historical tragedy of the Japanese internment camps
during World War II. Join us with award-winning and celebrated author
of Farewell to Manzanar, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, who will
discuss her latest book The Legend of Firehorse Woman. We
will also introduce you to a newly commissioned multi-media orchestral
piece by Maestro Kent Nagano entitled Manzanar: An American Story.
On-hand to discuss this world premier will be Director/Playwright
Philip Kan Gotanda and Composer Naomi Sekiya. For more information
